The stacked event MON89034 x NK603 maize obtained from conventional breeding of genetically modified maize event MON89034 and event NK603 to express two Bt-toxins (Cry1A.105 and Cry2Ab2 proteins) which provide protection to certain lepidopteran pests and CP4EPSPS protein which confers tolerance to glyphosate herbicide. According to the existing scientific data and information available during the safety assessment, it is concluded that the stacked event MON89034 x NK603 maize is substantially equivalent to its conventional counterpart in terms of morphology, nutrition, toxicity and allergenicity.
